Exposure can be tricky Its one of the harder things to master Being able to expose correctly is a really important foundation Im going to do a test seeing what exposure works best in a couple different scenarios If you have a sony, this may be valuable to you. If you dont, then you may still learn something. Regardless, do your own tests like im doing here so you can understand your tools better. Personally It helps me a lot My new Slog3 workflow: the slog footage retains more information when you intentionally overexpose. When you go to color correct, you bring down your shadows and your work is almost done. ie. overexpose and bring everything down. Rather than bring everything up. Whenever I expose to what looks good to my eye in camera, it ends up being too dark. Every camera is different. I find these work better bringing down exposure in post whereas a camera like a c70 may be the opposite.
