The EARTH'S MOST STUNNING PICTURESQUE LAKE? MORAINE LAKE

Moraine Lake is often referred to as the earth’s most stunning picturesque lake. Busy Tourist ranked it 23rd on a list of the 50 best vacation spots and places to visit in the world. WOW June 10/2023 Spring Hike, Alberta Canada The Moraine Lake valley is crowned by 10 notable Peaks: 1. Mount Fay 2. Mount Little 3. Mount Bowlen 4. Tonsa 5. Mount Perren 6. Mount Allen 7. Mount Tuzo 8. Deltaform Mountain 9. Neptuak Mountain 10. Wenkchemma Peak Beginning this year personal vehicles are no longer Able to drive up to the lake. You must take a bus up there or a shuttle. We took the Parks Canada bus to the Lake. We booked it online and the price was $8.00. Reservations must be made in advance. Our starting point was the Lake Louise Ski Hill. The ride to the lake takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the lake you will be greeted by hundreds of people. This is just the way it is. We started making our way up the trail to the Rock Pile. This is a very easy trail and has steps all the way up. At .4k we reached the first lookout. Even though the weather wasn’t the best, there is no denying that this is one of the most beautiful lakes in the World. We then continued working our way up to another lookout. From here you get a great view of the Valley of the Ten Peaks, and of course the lake. We made our way back down to the first lookout, in a windstorm. I went down a little closer to the lake to get some better video without the trees in front of me. We then proceeded back down to the lakeshore. They have canoe rentals here, but it was closed due to the variable weather we had. The canoe rental starts at $140 Cad plus tax, for one hour. We continued down the trail with the lake on our left. On our right were some cabins you can rent. I have no idea of the price per night. The main trail is just a little to the right of the lake, but in certain areas you can walk right along the lake. There are numerous little streams making their way into the lake. There were little bridges over all of them. At about 1.8k you will see Mount Fay across the lake with a beautiful glacier coming down it. At 2.6k we reached the end of the lake and had a creek in front of us flowing into the lake. From here there are two trails that continue. One goes up the right side of the creek, and the other one requires a creek crossing. They have a cable strung up to help you get across the creek. We enjoyed the views from here for a little bit, but the weather was coming in, so we decided to head back. We enjoyed a beer at the café and did some shopping in the gift store. This was my second day hiking with Nadia, her son Greg and her sister Lana. They were visiting from the US. If you ever come to Moraine Lake don’t just Hike up to the Rock Pile, spend some time hiking along the lakeshore, you won’t regret it. In total we hiked 4.2k with an elevation gain of 276 meters. This is my 112th video. Thank you very much for watching. If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up.
