This pine log looked rough from the start — weathered, ugly, and honestly questionable if it was even worth sawing. Between getting rained out, hard wind, and my dogs breaking my camera stand, this job almost didn’t happen. But the next day the sun came out, the mill fired back up, and this log surprised me. From one big pine log, I ended up with: • 27 boards – 1x10x12 • 10 boards – 1x3x12 That’s all rough sawn pine for a board and batten siding project. 💰 Pine lumber price: $1.25 per board foot Here’s the challenge: 👉 Do the math.
