Part three of our series. We chose a recipe from a World War 2 rations recipe book " war-time cookery to save fuel and food value" issued in the national food campaign exhibition 1940. This episodes recipe is suasage and tamto pie ... a recipe using basic ingredients of 1lb of sausages, cold mash potato,.1lb tomatoes and seasoning . This meal makes a decent healthy meal. Already, this series shows some stark contrasts with our modern eating habits.. the ingredients are less processed and healthier, and the portion sizes are drastically smaller than present-day eating habits. I had a lot of fun making this recipe and look forward to creating the other recipes in this booklet.
