VOTE NO ON PROP 36! Prop 36 will increase the CA prison population by increasing sentences for misdemeanors directly impacting the Chicano and Black community. In addition, Prop 36 will reduce funding for mental health, re-entry, and educational services. This reverses mass changes in the criminal justice system that have proven to decrease both the crime rate and the prison population. Most of all, these changes Prop 36 is attempting to reverse has offered a second chance for our gente to better themselves and to be there for their families. Chicano culture which encompasses both Oldies and low-riding has defiantly survived despite decades of mass incarceration, barrio warfare, inequality, and poverty. With that said, it is our utmost duty to utilize our cultura to positively impact our barrios. We have a voice! If you have a felony on your criminal record, on probation, parole or currently serving time in a County Jail, you have the right to vote! Hope you enjoy this video. GO OUT AND VOTE NOV. 5TH! Recorded live at the San José Berryessa Flea Market, San Jo, Califas on August 16th, 2024 as an extension to our 15th anniversary of the historic, often imitated but never duplicated, mythical and legendary Souleros Ball. Traditionally, Souleros Ball has not only been a gathering for Rare Oldies collectors and low-riders but also a stage for Chicano empowerment. We were blessed to have social justice advocate Ben Amador, who is formally incarcerated but now dedicates his career and passion to criminal justice reform and leading by example.
