Seeheilbad Bansin ab 1991 im Rahmen der Städtebauförderung eine Sanierung und Modernisierung der Hotels, Pensionen und Gaststätten, die nun wieder in privater Hand waren. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten von Bansin zählen die Villa Irmgard, der Sitz des Heimat-Museums und der Gedenkstätte für den Schriftsteller Maxim Gorki, das Hans-Werner-Richter-Haus als Gedenkstätte für den bekannten Usedomer Schriftsteller, sowie das Café Asgard aus dem Jahr 1898 als ältestes Café auf der Insel. Sehenswert ist auch das Tropenhaus, ein Kleinzoo mit etwa 150 meist exotischen Kleintieren. Im Umfeld des Seebades sind Ausflüge zur Steilküste am Langenberg oder in die malerischen Nachbardörfer Sellin, Alt- und Neu-Sallenthin sowie die Seen in unmittelbarer Umgebung empfehlenswert.
