Somalia: the ways a flexible funding is helping protect children from malnutrition.

An unprecedented drought in the Horn of Africa has been affecting millions of people, especially in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. In Somalia, a country suffering for decades from prolonged conflict and extreme weather, the drought is worsening the acute food insecurity in the country. Malnutrition is rife amongst children: over 1.8 million children under the age of 5 are acutely malnourished. The video shows how, with multi-year, flexible funding by the EU, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is helping the Somalia Red Crescent Society support vulnerable groups, including children.
