Hello friends! I am excited to bring you another singalong video from Epic today! I was surprised just how much traction my last video got, so I decided I am doing as many more of these songs as I can manage on my own before I bring in some recruits. This is a flashback to where Odysseus first meets Athena after he unknowingly earns the goddess's respect by killing a magic boar - a glimpse into the beginning of their mentor/mentee relationship. Listening to this music has inspired me to revisit my favorite Greek mythologies, so I am finally playing the 2018 installment of God of War, a franchise I had not visited in over a decade. It's been an absolute thrill to play this game on the PS5 with my own son, and it serves as a beautiful and often funny mirror showing the relationship dynamic between a weathered man (who has so much emotional baggage) and the annoyingly fearless younger version of himself without all the years of scars and earned wisdom. My son is nearing ten years old, and I try to offer him knowledge and warnings constantly and also remembering to give him room for his beautiful youthful mindset and let him make his own mistakes.
