Looking to achieve perfect gathering in your sewing projects? I've got you covered here with this step-by-step how to guide on achieving that professional look of even gathering. The small details of sewing your garment makes all the difference. As I recall one of my sewing or fashion teachers used to say.. that the small details are what makes the difference between a $5 garment and a $500 one... or something like that! You get the point ;-D I own and have used a couple of gathering feet (foots?) and those are easier for heavy gathering, but it's hard to control the finished width of the piece you are gathering. So I like this hand gathering method, if I need the gathering to fit a certain width. Be sure to use strong thread, so it doesn't break during the gathering process!
