In this non-sponsored video, I will be helping the owner of this 2011 Lexus RX450h replace their tired traction battery on the hybrid drive system. While built by Toyota, this is a different Hybrid and battery system than my beloved Prius uses. Because of the more limited run of these hybrid batteries, rather than re-building them like ‪@chrisfix‬ , these come pre-made as 3 separate modules. While Electron Hybrid Solutions offers a very similar setup, the owner purchased this one from Exculsively Hybrid in Florida. ‪@Exclusivelyhybrid‬ did not offer any real help or advice with this project but were very kind to work with. It is also pretty evident to me that they are merely a licensed distributor of the system and do not make it in house. However, it does look very professional. That being said, I do change a few things from the instructions and I would recommend testing and cleaning the 3 blower motors and wheels while doing this. I would also like to point out ‪@PalmettoBatteryPros‬ did a few videos on this already worth checking out. NOTE: PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!!!!! While it is very possible the battery could have been tested for individual bad cells and re-built or a re-built battery could have been purchased, the owner did not have time or confidence in a "possible" repair and wanted the best affordable option as they are likely keeping this vehicle for another 50k miles at least.
