A young girl, fragile and weak, walked into the room where her mother waited anxiously. Her father walked closely behind. The mother sprang up, asking how it went. Without looking up, the girl whispered twice, “Don’t speak now.” She then slowly lay down on the bed. Her parents watched as their beloved daughter struggled, her face mirroring inner turmoil. She lay there silently for 25 minutes. At the end, she gently opened her eyes, turned to her mother, and said, “Mom, now you can talk.” Her mother recalls that her daughter took 25 minutes to say “Yes” to Jesus and never turned back. A year later, on October 5, 1990, she passed away. Before departing for her heavenly abode, she told her mother, “Mom, ciao! Be happy, because I am.” Today, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Blessed Chiara Badano, affectionately known as "Luce," a nineteen-year-old girl who lived fully, laughed heartily, played spiritedly, and suffered joyfully. Chiara was the only child of Maria Teresa and Ruggero, born after 11 years of infertility. Her devout parents believed Chiara was first and foremost a child of God. [VIDEO 00:28] At age nine, she joined the Focolare Movement, founded by Chiara Lubich, who had a profound impact on her. Chiara Lubich gave her the nickname "Luce," the Italian word for "light." A lively, athletic girl, Chiara was playing tennis one day when she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. At 17, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. She underwent her first surgery that February, and soon after, she lost the use of her legs. Yet, throughout her suffering, Chiara remained joyful. Her unceasing prayer was, “For you, Jesus: if you want this, so do I.” Confined to her bedroom, Chiara continued to spread Christ’s message. Friends found comfort in her words, often calling her for support. When her mother asked if she talked to her friends about Jesus, Chiara replied, “No, I give them Jesus.” Chiara shared Christ through her words, her love, and even the way she dressed, offering a new approach to evangelization. Her life became a testament to the grace of Christ, as she graciously accepted her suffering and used every moment to deepen her faith. Chiara prepared for her passing as if preparing for a wedding, knowing she would soon see her beloved face-to-face. Dressed in an unblemished white gown, accompanied by the music of Gen Verde and Gen Rosso, she went to behold her beloved Christ. At her funeral, presided over by Bishop Monsignor Maritano, hundreds of young people felt they were in the presence of holiness. On September 25, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI officially recognized the sanctity of this young woman, proclaiming her "Blessed Chiara Badano." #sgnews ► For more videos SUBSCRIBE SHEKINAH GLOBAL NEWS / @sgnews-sg ► GET US ON SOCIAL MEDIA: ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ FACEBOOK : / 61564278617499 INSTA: / shekinahglobalnews Follow us on X: https://x.com/SGNews123 Whatsapp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GA2a4dQ4ljB...
