This number is 30 of 60 'great short walks of tasmania' and is so beautiful I might just have to go and do it again! The simple walking trail, suitable for any age group, starts out following a cascading river and you could be mistaken to think it's just another simple bush walk. But once you cross the bridge over that river you enter the section where this trails namesake is from. You enter the magical forest and feel totally surrounded with nature as you wander around the old, moss covered trees, wombat holes run into the underbrush and the river flows strongly allowing no noise from the outside world in. My only wish is that the hiking trail was longer so I could spend more time in the enchanted forest. It's a must do for avid walkers and hikers. The enchanted forest delivered some beautiful snowfall on my walk to top off a wonderful day outside. Here is more information about the hike from the Tasmanian Parks website: "A walk to suit all age groups. For company there’s a cascading river, wombat burrows and magical old-growth rainforest. The walk is located in Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park The walk will take you through butongrass moorland before entering cool temperate rainforest along the edges of Pencil Pine Creek.
