Photos and artifacts from the Vietnam War are on display in Saigon's (Ho Chi Minh City) War Remnants Museum, which presents the conflict from the perspective of the Communist North Vietnamese government. In 1975, the museum opened in the space that had formerly housed the United States Information Agency as the "Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes."  The "U.S." and "Puppet" were dropped from the name in 1990, and since then it has been known as the Exhibition House for Crimes of War and Aggression.  The words "war crimes" and "aggression" were removed from the museum's name in 1995, when diplomatic ties with the United States were normalized and the US embargo was lifted.  The museum is now simply called the "War Remnants Museum." There are over 500,000 annual visitors, making it one of Vietnam's busiest museums. The museum believes that around two-thirds of its visitors are not from the United States.
