FOR THOSE WANTING TO LEARN….. 🪑 Step-by-Step Beginner Method 1. Adjust the Seat • Sit on the unicycle and make sure the seat is about hip height (when standing next to it). • Your feet should comfortably reach the pedals without locking your knees. 2. Find Your Balance Support • Stand next to a wall or railing you can use for support. • It’s normal to lean slightly forward — helps balance. 3. Place Pedals in Starting Position • Put the stronger foot forward (usually right foot) on the pedal at about the 2 o’clock position. • Keep the other pedal down near the bottom. 4. Mount the Unicycle • Hold onto the support with one hand. • Press down on the front pedal and place your other foot on the back pedal. • Sit tall but relaxed. 5. Practice Rocking & Rolling • Push down with your front foot to rock forward and back a little. • Try to make small forward rolls while still holding onto support. 6. Look Ahead, Not Down • Keep your eyes forward, not on your feet. • This helps your balance stay centered. 7. Take Small Steps Forward • Once comfortable rocking, gently push and try small forward movement. • Use your support until you can balance longer on your own. 8. Pedal Smoothly • Don’t push too hard — smooth, light pedaling helps balance more than force. ⸻ 💡 Beginner Tips • Practice in short sessions (10–15 minutes), a few times a day. • Expect some wobbles — it’s normal! • On grass or carpet can be easier to start (slower rolling). • Don’t give up — balance comes with practice.
