Once you can see him, push your console key, then back out and equip the New 52 suit. Next, go into your Story Mode or select a challenge map. Repeatedly put in the code during the loading screen by pressing your console key over and over. When the game loads, the skin should be working. If it hasn't worked, try hitting restart from checkpoint on the pause menu and repeatedly press your console key on the loading screen again. If it still doesn't work, then something's gone wrong, so leave a comment and I'll help you troubleshoot it.
