We love that netball is a global game and that when it comes to playing, we all speak the same language. Through our connection to the Akwaaba Volunteers in Ghana via the INF (International Netball Federation) and the Netball Development Trust we reached out to Jordan (Akwaaba Founder) and her amazing group of young netballers to put their twist on our fun new dance inspired netball routine - NETSTEP. What you are about to see is an amazing expression of netballing joy and freedom, in the purest sense. These beautiful young girls from a small community in Ghana (Western Africa), learnt this dance (as well as integrating some amazing extra steps!) in the space of a week, via a video link that we sent through to Jordan. The aim of Akwaaba Volunteers Ghana is to “Brighten the future of the next generation”, alleviate poverty and create better opportunities for underprivileged children and disadvantaged communities through our projects in health, education and sports. We’re so privileged that Akwaaba Volunteers have joined us in sharing NETSETP with the world and we can’t wait to see your club’s version of NETSTEP and in continuing to unite the global netball community. We also wanted to share with you why each of these young girls play netball, and how playing netball makes them feel. Happy watching, and be sure to let these girls know how much you’ve enjoyed their version of NETSTEP! Kadija Kamoah: 12 (age), C (position).
