Our sound and lighting courses can be found at https://school.learnlightandsound.com In this review, we look at and listen to Sennheiser’s newest addition to their 8000 series, the MKH 8018! This stereo RF condenser mic can function as a normal shotgun mic for dialogue recording, but also has a mid-side stereo and two XY stereo modes to capture wider ambient audio footprints with ease. In this episode we briefly explain how each mode works, listen to samples recorded with each of the different settings, and give you an overview of the full feature set. Let’s take a closer look and listen! Check out our in-depth exploration of mid-side recording here: • Curtis tries ASMR and mid-side stereo reco... that and here for more in-depth: https://www.youtube.com/live/8AXbxaT-... If you’d like to learn how to make great dialogue audio for your film and video projects, please have a look at my courses including processing dialogue audio in Adobe Audition and DaVinci Resolve/Fairlight, recording sound, how to use the Zoom F4, F6, F8, and F8n, and how to get the most from the Sound Devices MixPre series of recorders. Our latest courses cover Sound for Live Streaming with the ATEM Mini and an Intro to Izotope RX. See https://school.learnlightandsound.com for more info!
