Welcome back to our family's exciting journey through Greece! 🇬🇷 On Day 2, we set out on a memorable day trip to Heraklion, exploring the renowned Knossos Palace and the fascinating Archaeological Museum, all while making sure to carve out time for relaxation on the stunning beaches. Join us as we recount our day's adventures in this video. Knossos Palace Exploration: Our day kicked off with a delicious breakfast, followed by an eagerly awaited day trip to Heraklion. The adventure began as we boarded the tour bus, which we had booked through Get Your Guide, and waited at the designated landmark. Keep watching to find out how the tour unfolded! Priority Access at Knossos Palace: Upon arriving at the mesmerizing Knossos Palace, we joined the queue, which, surprisingly, moved swiftly. If you're traveling with young ones, families with children get priority access, as we discovered. This made ticket purchasing a breeze for us, especially with our toddler in a pushchair. We were even provided with radio packs and earphones to hear the tour guide as we explored this ancient palace. Ticket Options and Palace Grounds: We opted for the package ticket, granting us entry to both Knossos Palace and the Archaeological Museum for £20. Once inside, we toured the palace as a group, led by our knowledgeable guide. The palace's surroundings featured an open space with rocks, trees, and plenty of natural beauty. Don't forget your sunscreen, sunshade, hat, and a water bottle to stay hydrated during the 30-minute walk around the palace. Accessibility for Families: Knossos Palace is generally wheelchair accessible, which made it easy for us to explore with our pushchair. However, please note that not all areas of the palace are wheelchair accessible, so be prepared. Heraklion City Exploration: After our palace adventure, we made our way to the heart of Heraklion. Our guide shared key landmarks with us, and we had some free time to explore the city independently. Shopping enthusiasts, take note of the shops like Zara and MAC, where we discovered a 25% sale. Heraklion Archaeological Museum: Next on our list was a quick visit to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum. With only 30 minutes to spare, we swiftly browsed through the captivating exhibits before heading back to our bus. Beachside Bliss: After our city tour and museum visit, we headed to the beach to unwind and enjoy the soothing waves. A nap rejuvenated us, and we savored a delicious dinner at our hotel. Signing Off: We're gearing up for another adventure-filled day tomorrow, so stay tuned for our upcoming video! Thank you for watching and don't forget to like, subscribe, and share our journey with your friends.
