Ocular Surface Disease (OSD) is a term that covers many different issues but they all have to do with the front part of the eye. If you have watery, itchy, irritated, red, or some kind of issue with your lids and lashes, that would be categorized as ocular surface disease. Some of the most common forms of this are: 🔵 Blepharitis (meibomian gland dysfunction) 🔵 Ocular Rosacea 🔵 Conjunctivitis (pink eye) 🔵 Dry Eye Disease All of these issues can be caused by: 🟢 Environment 🟢 Excess screen time 🟢 Cosmetics 🟢 Smoking 🟢 Systemic conditions (ex. lupus, crohn's disease, IBS, gut health, etc.) 🟢 Medications (ex. allergy meds, ADHD meds, depression meds, anxiety meds, etc.) Now, looking at that list, you probably have at least a couple of those in your life which means even if you don't feel the effects right now, your eyes are still being affected. The key to not letting OSD get to an advanced stage is to focus on PREVENTION! You can stop the progression by using easy at-home treatments (Check out this video for some ideas 👉 • How To Keep Your Eyes Healthy! | Quick & E... ) If you find you are already experiencing considerable OSD symptoms, at-home treatments may not be enough to bring you relief. There are several advanced in-office treatments that are game-changers when it comes to treating advanced OSD such as IPL, LLLT, ZEST deep cleaning, etc. This is a passion of our office and we want you to know there is hope! My goal is to enhance your overall quality of life by improving and preserving your current level of #vision, preventing blindness and promoting your best #eyehealth 👀.
