Incident: On July 25th, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, a Chesterfield Township police officer observed a motorcycle traveling northbound on Gratiot Ave near 23 Mile Rd without a license plate. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the rider refused to comply and fled at a high rate of speed. Due to public safety concerns, the officer initially terminated the pursuit. However, about 3 miles up the road, the same motorcycle was located stopped behind a vehicle at a red light. As the officer approached with emergency lights activated, the suspect attempted to flee once again—only to rear-end the vehicle in front of him, causing him to be thrown from the motorcycle. After a brief struggle with officers, a firearm was recovered from the suspect. The motorcycle was impounded, and the suspect was transported to the Chesterfield Township Police Department. He was charged with multiple felonies, including Fleeing & Eluding, Resisting & Obstructing, and Felony Firearm. He was later lodged at the Macomb County Jail.
