If you want to skip to the install, it starts at 4:30. In this video, I’ll be going over the process of prepping, painting, and installing my new Barnes 4WD Bolt-On Skid Plate on my 2003 Jeep TJ. This is a great replacement for the thin and weak sheet metal skid plate that comes stock on the TJ. Even though it’s a direct bolt-on replacement, keep in mind that you’ll need a Slip Yoke Eliminator (SYE) and CV (constant velocity) double cardan rear driveshaft, depending on your lift height. After doing that, your pinion angle will also need to be adjusted. For any tutorials on these, go check out my buddy @atemoffroad. This skid plate raises the stock transmission mount 1” and provides you with additional clearance. At 1/4” thick, it's built to handle a beating on the trails. This is my first Barnes 4WD product, and I'm very impressed with the quality. I will be shopping there again for some more items, and I would highly recommend this skid plate to anyone who doesn't already have an aftermarket replacement. It's the perfect addition to the Off Kamber TJ build, and it is one more thing crossed off on my build list💯 In the next video, I will be doing this same process to a set of Motobilt Rock Sliders that I scored off of FB Marketplace. Thank you for watching, and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave me a comment or message me on Instagram under the username @offkambertj. Have a great day. 🎶 Sexy and Fantastic by Ninja Muzik Tokyo 🎶
