This message is directed at all nonprofit organizations involved in climate action, infrastructure, road safety, sustainable transportation, inclusivity, and related fields. I urge you to reconsider the inclusion of cycling and cyclists in your agendas. You may view this as feedback, criticism, or a request. The reason for this suggestion is simple: when we organize events such as workshops, seminars, conferences, or expert talks, we often fail to ensure that the venues we choose are truly inclusive. Do these locations accommodate guests arriving by bicycle? Are bicycles allowed on the premises? It’s ironic that we discuss the needs of cyclists in venues that prohibit bicycle access. If we cannot get the basics right, it may be more prudent to exclude cycling and cyclists from our discussions altogether. This observation comes from my own experiences and is not aimed at any specific event or organization; it reflects a widespread issue.
