Here is a cool look at the BNSF back in 2009! BNSF Railway's Gateway Subdivision runs 203 miles between Klamath Falls, Oregon and Keddie, California. Built by the Great Northern and Western Pacific, this remote line traverses the semi-arid high country of extreme northern California meeting Union Pacific's route through the Feather River Canyon at the famous Keddie Wye. The southern Cascades and northern Sierra Nevada mountain ranges offer both scenic vistas and many challenges for railroaders who work here. Shot in all seasons. If you had the DVD or watched it on RFD-TV's "Trains and Locomotives" years ago, it may be familiar to you. This YouTube release includes a few bonus scenes that did not make the original program. At the time this was filmed (2008-2009) the line was dark territory (no signals) and train movements were governed by Track Warrant Control. Many sections of jointed rail add to the nostalgia. In 2021, the massive Dixie Fire ravaged much of the country you will be seeing in the southern portion around Greenville.
