This is the first album Ron Boots and Michel van Osenbruggen( Synth.nl ) played together and it has a very nice story to it. They first met at a Synthesizer Meeting organized by the Dutch 'Synth Forum' in 2006. There they started talking about synthesizers and synthesizer music and found out that they shared the same fascinations. As a result Michel signed up as Synth.nl in 2007 with Groove Unlimited. They worked a lot in the studio together after that remixing and mastering. Since then they have become very good friends and visit each other on regular basis. Also their wives, kids and even the dogs like each other. In 2010 their wives decided to rent a house together in the Belgian Ardennes for a weekend. Ron and Michel both brought a synthesizer and a laptop and tried to make music together for the first time and that went very well actually. They recorded quite some tracks there. After the weekend they decided that the music should be released on CD. So they started on finishing the music together when they got back in their own studios. The result is the album called 'Refuge en Verre', which was the name of the house they rented. They got the inspiration for the music they played from the beautiful nature in the Belgian Ardennes and the nice time they had with their families over there. Most of the tracks were played live as improvisations in the temporary studio that they created in the rented house. "Refuge en Verre" was released by Groove Unlimited at the E-live festival in Oirschot (NL) on the 9th of October 2010. "Soleil Levant"( Sun rise ) is an excellent track from this brilliant album. Ron Boots is one of the most important electronic musicians from The Netherlands. Since his early musical explorations in the eighties, "Big Ron" developed a distinguished style that has its roots in the classical electronic music from the seventies, and early eighties but can clearly be regarded as Ron Boots-music. http://www.ronboots.com http://www.groove.nl Michel became interested in synthesizers during the late 1980's / early 1990's. It was at that time that he started collecting electronic instruments. After a while a body of work was accumulated and by 2005 Michel was ready to release and promote his material. Early influences included Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis. "Atlantico" is from his stunning cd Oceanography http://www.synth.nl/ / synthnl
