Spinning Brass on the Lathe to make an Egg Cup for Easter Breakfast. With Hot Soldering Action! KSKS

Hi Jamie. Our hero starts his day by accidently turning a buck on the wood lathe, unfortunately it resembled a naughty thing, so being the quick thinking genius that he is, he swiftly mounts it into the chuck of the metal lathe. Knowing that the only way to solve this perilous problem, is to drill a hole in the end of it and attempt to make it a little brass hat, that is what our handsome hero sets out to do. Dashingly marking a circle onto a piece of sheet brass with some calipers, he set to work trimming it to shape with his trusty guillotine. Not the same as the ones he remembered fondly from his youth, this one was only for cutting metal, and thin metal at that. Pitiful. With the circle cut, our hero mounts it on the offending buck with little time to spare. Unbeknownst to him, it is tragically too large. A fact he wouldn't realise until it was just before it being a tad late. Using the majestic motions our hero is well known for, he takes the tool to the face of the circle, and cuts. It all goes extremely well, I don't know why you would think it wouldn't. With a spare circle for future use our hero sets to work spinning the now greatly reduced in size brass circle using a blunt piece of metal wedged against the bolt for his tool holder. Eventually after many minutes of mild work, the brass is shaped somewhat similar to an egg cup. The handsome and spectacular genius has a world changing epiphany and decides that he shall make an egg cup, the likes of which have never been seen. Machining the base section was a feat of endurance that many will talk of as legend in years to come, but he did it, success! The top bit fits on the bottom bit. Using the judicious application of heat our hero bonds the two pieces of brass together with the ancient art known as soldering. The result is an egg cup, with what resembles a bell at one end. After polishing this end for quite some time. Our hero is obviously ready for breakfast and using a technique he saw Gordon Ramsey disparage, he courageously boils an egg in the kettle. It works better than you think. As you can tell by the fact that our hero can't dunk his blowtorch soldiers in the yolk.
