Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack happened in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. TTP group said the attack was in retaliation for the killing of a senior leader, Ustad Qureshi. The attack was confirmed by Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
