Surveillance Video: Armed robbery suspect quickly tracked down by police

Police were able to quickly track down a suspect believed to be responsible for two armed robberies along Blanco Road Saturday. Officers were called out just after 9 p.m. to the Beer King convenience store at 3703 Blanco Road for a report of an aggravated robbery. The victim said the 34-year-old suspect entered the business, pointed a silver handgun at two people inside the business and demanded the money. “He comes often,” said Beer King convenience store manager Angelo Monteiro. “I wanted a restraining order for him not to come back in the store. And then I think he got mad.” “And then last night he came with, like, mask and everything, right? He walks in, but I wasn't here at that time, my co-worker was here, and then he tried to, he had a gun on him, a pistol, pistol on him, and then he walks in, he asked for the money from the register, right?” explained Monteiro. One of the suspects exited the business after she believed the suspect left and attempted to contact police regarding what just occurred. The suspect was still on scene and took her phone, preventing her from contacting emergency services. "They just give him the lottery tickets, and he just takes off. But he didn't, he didn't harm nobody, nothing like that. But he's been doing that last couple of days, here and there, you know, all over the place. And then last night, the cops, they got him," said Monteiro. The suspect then fled northbound along Blanco and approached another victim who was nearby. The suspect pointed a handgun at her and demanded all her property. After watching video surveillance, officers were familiar with the suspect. As a search warrant was being completed, officers created a perimeter around the suspect’s home. The suspect attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended by officers without incident. Two robberies were reported along this same strip of Blanco Road Friday night.
