On today’s edition of The Daily, Tim Stanley is joined by former Conservative MP Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, to ask the big question of the day - should Rachel Reeves be forced to resign after admitting to not having a licence to rent out her home. Sir Jacob says that, whilst Labour ministers do seem to think there’s “one rule for them and one for everybody else”, that what the story also shows is that we are an “insanely overregulated country” and that “people should be free ot let their own property as they wish”. Jacob also takes aim at the Chancellor’s plans for a 2p rise in income tax, calling it “desperately unfair on what Labour likes to call working people”. He also criticises the the constant briefing and “kite-flying” of what may or may not be in the Budget in November, saying it has “serious economic consequences because people have taken planning steps”. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/customer/... ► Get the latest headlines: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/ ► Sign up to the Telegraph's free new daily newsletter, From the Editor, bringing you the latest news, features and analysis from the Telegraph newsroom: https://telegraph.co.uk/customer/secu... #TheDailyPodcast #TimStanley #JacobReesMogg #RachelReeves #LabourParty #UKPolitics #ConservativeParty #PropertyRegulations #HousingCrisis #IncomeTax #UKBudget #PoliticalDebate #Westminster #PropertyRights #TaxRise #EconomicPolicy
