TRANSCRIPT Good morning, everyone! Happy Monday! Today, let's talk about Geography. Tell me, which country has Amsterdam as its capital? Did you say "Holland"? Well, actually, Holland is just a region in the country of the Netherlands. I've always thought that they were the same thing, but apparently they are not. But I don't want to talk about the country, I want to talk about the people. How do you call the people who live in the Netherlands? Netherlandian... Hollandish... ? No, you call them Dutch. Don't ask me why, I don't know. But what I do know and what I want to teach you today is the idiom "to go Dutch". And it means that if two or more people go to a restaurant, then everyone pays for himself. So, ladies, if your date says that he wants to go Dutch, he is not inviting you to go to Amsterdam with him, he just doesn't want to pay for your food! And gentlemen, I think that going Dutch is rather unromantic. In any case, enjoy your restaurant time next week, whether you go Dutch or not. And have a great week! Until next Monday! Bye!
