Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. OCIA is a structured program for people desiring to know more about the Catholic Church. This program is a faith journey where we will explore Catholic tradition, teachings, and spiritual development. Each week is a new opportunity to learn more about Jesus Christ and the Christian way of life. St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church welcomes everyone, no matter where you are, to join us as we journey deeper into our faith and relationship with God. God created everything for a reason; nothing that God has created is by accident. We can see much of His plan as it's written in the bible. Why are so many people confused about their purpose, how they should live, and how we should act towards one another? We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with influences. It can sometimes feel like our lives are one long commercial, where someone is telling us what to buy or what to think. We can see these influences affecting our generations born with social media at their fingertips. Many people believe that they can live with a partner without having children or have children out of wedlock. Others believe in same-sex marriages or polygamy. Is this how God wanted us to live? We're going to cover many of these topics in today's class as we look at how to live in harmony with God and with each other.
