The Residenz, Munich, Germany.

The Residenz in central Munich is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. The interior shown here just left me in awe. Of all the Palaces I saw in Bavaria, this is a must see. It reminded me of some of the great museums where there is just so much beautiful artwork, architecture, colour and variety that your brain just stops taking in the detail because it is blown away by the volume. The creepy relic room is one of those things where you cannot take your eyes off it because of the horror: 'Am I really seeing that??' There really is too much jaw-dropping stuff to see here so I highly recommend visiting. Cuvilliés Theatre has a separate entrance so you have to physically leave the Palace, hit the street and wander around to find it (might have something to do with current building/restoration work). That alone is worth seeing. It somehow felt tiny and massive at the same time. Love to see a show or something there.
