Dr. Christoforidis joined the Havener Eye Institute as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology with the Retina Division in October 2006. Before coming to the Havener Eye Institute, Dr. Christoforidis was on staff at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Christoforidis graduated in the top 2% of his class with a B.A. from The Ohio State University and continued his education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine to receive his M.D. Following his Internship in the Department of Internal Medicine at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, he completed his residency at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, MD and his Research Fellowship at the National Eye Institute's Ophthalmic Genetics and Clinical Services Branch in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Christoforidis went on to complete his Retina Research Clinical Fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA. He studied Ophthalmology and Radiation Oncology at the Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki, Greece. He has had numerous publications and his research interest lies primarily with retinal vascular occlusions and imaging.
