A young woman had a T-shirt on that read “not your habibti” with super cool snake earrings. We immediately asked her where we could find this shop! It was a coincidence that on our last day in Nablus, we saw this beautiful young woman dressed extremely well passing by, we all made eye contact as we were curious by one another. One thing led to another and we became acquainted. Yasmine is the founder and creator of the Palestinian fashion brand, Nol Collective. What makes Nol Collective unique is the way the brand's message on feminism fuses with the efforts to revive Palestinian heritage while under Israeli occupation. In this interview, Yasmine gives us her thoughts on the importance of conscious fashion, cultural appropriation and how fashion is a beautiful form of storytelling, especially for Palestinians who often do not get to tell their side.
