UK PM Boris Johnson last night announced a UK wide lock-down. Find out more on the government's website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronav... Here's what it means: You must not leave your home, unless for the following reasons: To shop for basic necessities such as food or medicine. To travel to and from work if you are a critical part of the workforce, for example a nurse or gas worker. If you have any medical need which requires leaving the house, or to provide care. And finally to take one piece of exercise per day, going for a run or a walk for example. When you do go outside you must follow social distancing rules, that means staying at least two metres away from others. You must not meet friends or family, and you can only go outside with someone you are living with or alone. The police will be enforcing these rules, with the ability to fine you up to £1000 if you refuse to follow the new measures. All public gatherings of more than 2 people will be dispersed too. To enforce the lockdown the government has also decided to shut down all shops selling non-essential items, along with places of worship, libraries and gyms. All social events including weddings and baptisms are now banned, other than funerals. Travel on roads, trains and buses were also banned, unless it’s essential to get to work.
