Our series of video interviews where AboutFACE's Co-Artistic Directors Anna and Paul Nugent pose 5 Questions to leading figures in theatre -- today it's Curt Columbus. Curt is Artistic Director of Trinity Rep in Rhode Island, a role he has held since 2006. He is also artistic director of the MFA programs in Acting and Directing at Brown University. Before that, he worked as an actor, director and playwright in the Chicago theater scene for almost 20 years. His directing credits for Trinity range from classics such as the Scottish play and The Merchant of Venice, to musicals such as Ragtime and Cabaret, and new work including world premieres like Social Creatures. As a playwright, Trinity Rep has been home to the world premieres of three of Curt's plays: Paris by Night, The Dreams of Antigone, and Sparrow Grass, as well as producing his translations of Chekhov's plays, which have been published by Dramatists Play Service.
