MLP Animation - Two Turtlegriffs Grandpa Gruff gets visited by a "special friend". Hope you like it! ^^ Most of you have probably seen my drawings, but for those who don't know, the "special friend" is Grizel (the old Griffoness from the "The Lost Treasure of Griffinstone" episode, I named her). In my stories, she's Gruff's girlfriend/fiancée. Yes. And there's a reason. Many of you probably saw me still being active on social media and posting on my community tab here on YouTube, but not any videos. I'll be honest, I was kind of nervous to post this animation exactly because of that lack of content and inactivity, for which I want to apologise to all of you. It's especially a big bummer for me, because I consider 2023 the year my skills as an artist and animator really began to improve (at least, I hope so). I also realised what I wanted to primarily do on my channel, as I hadn't been sure for quite some time: tell stories through my art, whether it's still artwork or animation. It'd been in front of me the whole time, but it took me a while to realise. So, to break the ice a bit about what's going on, I have massive exams at the end of the year that'll influence what I do in college and where I end up going. So, obviously, school is gonna have to be my main priority. Also, you've seen the process of how I draw. As of now, I animated the "traditional/old fashioned way," meaning each of the drawings you see here are all very few pictures changed slightly to give the characters some kind of motion. No models, no puppets, just a bunch of hand-drawn sketches on paper I digitalised on my tablet using nothing but my fingers (that's right, MY FINGERS) and animated by relying solely on how I changed the pieces, combined with whatever special features the video editing softwares I use can offer me. I also used and "recycled" a couple of old drawings. Animation takes time. I can easily find time to draw an art piece, but animating a whole video is a very lengthy process. It may be about two minutes, but that doesn't mean it actually took me two minutes IN REAL TIME to complete it. Every frame here took me up to 3-5 hours to complete, including all the small details (just the cocoa cups took me nearly an hour and a half). I was originally planning to release it on Christmas but I postponed it to now because, no matter how small a video may be, you guys deserve the most exceptional quality possible. I really wish I could have given you something much longer, but I hope you will still find this enjoyable for what it is. Animation takes time. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post for a while, but it'll probably be, amongst other things, smaller animations of my characters and their stories, but it depends.
