Presteigne is a beautiful town located in Wales, UK. Its residents suffer from poor street lighting, lack of tourism and night-time economy. With the help of the new lighting masterplan, the community wants to reduce energy-waste, save money, encourage social activity and become a destination. Set to be completed in 2022, it is estimated that the project will reduce Presteigne’s carbon footprint by about 3.5 tonne CO2e/year whilst making it the first ever Dark Sky Community in Wales.
