Empowering Educators to Promote SEL Through Parent Engagement and Community Collaboration

This workshop will explore the development and implementation of the SEL Kit Project, a comprehensive 'toolbox' designed to support young children's social-emotional learning (SEL). The SEL Kit has been distributed to community agencies, early childhood programs, mental health providers, and families. We engage families through SEL workshops, and Parent Cafés provide resources that foster emotional well-being, self-regulation, and connection. Join us to learn about the creation of the SEL Kit, its purpose, and strategies for engaging community partners in funding and expanding this initiative. We will also share best practices for hosting SEL workshops and Parent Cafés, incorporating the Sparkler app, its interactive SEL play activities, and the ASQ-SE screening tool. We will share feedback about the Kit’s impact on families and discuss how you can implement this project in your communities.
