Living in Manora Village I, one of our first residents Dominique age 86 years, tells us the story about living in Manora Village and Thailand. Dominique and his wife were in Cha Am, north of Hua Hin. While reading the local newspaper, Dominique found out that there was a lot of project building going on in Hua Hin. He and his wife decided to view a project in Khao Tao, south of Hua Hin. After viewing the first property for sale, they caught eyes on the neighbouring project which was built by a Swiss. They met Walter Camenisch, the founder of Manora Village Hua Hin and liked what they saw. The married couple had previously been thinking about buying a holiday home in a country with a tropical climate, but yet had not decided whether it was going to be South Africa or Thailand. The last day on their holiday in Hua Hin, Dominique and his wife decided to buy their house. They both liked the surroundings, the details and the houses in Manora Village I. Initially, Dominique and his wife bought the house as a holiday home. However, during the years the situation changed for both of them when Dominique's wife got ill and needed support. They decided to move to Thailand on a full time basis and soon the married couple discovered the advantages of having full time care takers in Thailand. The Thai's are very friendly and have a huge respect for elderly people, as this is being a part of the culture.
