Recording directly to wax cylinder - a live demonstration (acoustic recording - Ukulele solo)

This is a demonstration of the acoustic recording process. This was how artists would make records pre 1925. After that electric microphones were introduced and changed the recording industry forever. On this video I demonstrate myself making an acoustic recording so you can hear what it does to the sound. Back at the turn of the century it was the sheer volume of the instrument, or voice that would vibrate a diaphragm to cut into the wax disc/cylinder.
