With a car , it takes about 2 hours 20 minutes, to cover the slightly over 200 km distance from Stuttgart to Frankfurt am Main, the "banking and finance“ capital of Germany. That is, assuming you are not stuck in "Stau“ (Traffic Jams). Factoring in traffic jams and other unexpected traffic situations, you should budget for at least 3 hours, one-way. With the Very fast ICE (Intercity Express) bullet train, it takes about 1 hour 19 minutes to cover the same distance, with only two quick stops in Mannheim and Frankfurt Airport. Cost-wise, the trains are relatively cheap at the moment and if you book wisely, and early enough, you can spend as little as 60 Euros or even less for a return ticket on the ICE, travelling #eco-friendly and totally relaxed. ICE trains can reach speeds of up to 320 km/h (200 mph). With a car, you would need far much more than that, especially due to the current increased fuel prices…let alone the stress of being in traffic and having to concentrate the whole way….
