A Folia is a classical musical form that is established on slow Sarabande. Folia’s develops on a specific manner. This piece is written by a Italian composer but in the Spanish style. So I decided to play it on a Spanish Barock organ. I hope you like it. I used a lot a register changes, to use the whole organ. The organ comes from the Chapelet Spanish Collection at Montpon-Ménestérol, France. The instrument was saved by Francis Chapelet from a ruinous church in Castilia. Chapelet bought the organ, and one week after it was moved out, the church's vault collapsed. It was an empty organ case—only the front pipes were preserved and one of the windchests. The front carving bears the date 1736. Gerhard Grenzing restored the instrument in 1978 and enlarged it to allow for a wider repertoire. The organ has two manuals with a chromatic compass, and a full pedal of 30 keys. The temperament found during the recording was similar to Werckmeister III.(Hauptwerk, Sonus Paradisi). #organ #orgue #orgel #pipeorgan #pijporgel #Churchorgan #classicalmusic #kerkorgel
