Le propulseur Magdalénien de L’Abri Fontalès à Saint Antonin Noble Val 82 Le propulseur Magdalénien de L’Abri Fontalès ou Cuzoul des blondes, à Saint Antonin Noble Val en Tarn et Garonne, 82. Conservé au Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de Toulouse. Découvert par Pierre Darasse. Cet objet est interprété comme étant un harpon à une seule barbelure. Après reconstitution la pointe semble peu pointue pour une pointe de projectile et aplatie comme les propulseurs de type 2a. La fracture sur l’original est éloignée de la pointe et ne correspond pas à une cassure sur le point le plus faible : proche de la barbelure. La fracture sur l’original semble correspondre à la zone proche de l’emmanchement du crochet d’un propulseur. Par contre un propulseur, avec un crochet de type 2a, semble plus réaliste. La position du crochet confirme le type 2a. En effet, si on prolonge le crochet, même au maximum, il reste très proche de la hampe du propulseur. Preserved at the Museum of Natural History in Toulouse. Discovered by Pierre Darasse. This object is interpreted as being a harpoon with a single barb. After reconstitution, the point does not seem sharp enough for a projectile point and flattened like type 2a atlatls types . The fracture on the original is far from the point and does not correspond to a fracture on the weakest point: close to the barb. The fracture on the original appears to correspond to the area near the handle of the atlatl hook. An atlatl with a hook of 2a type, seems more realistic. The position of the hook confirms 2a type. Indeed, if the hook is extended, even to the maximum, it remains very close to the shaft of the atlatl. Some hooks which are of the same type: Fontalès, Saint Antonin Noble Val.
