RSPB East Grinstead Local Group build a Sand Martin nest bank

Phil Holland and Martin Jeffree of RSPB East Grinstead Local Group and Friends of Weir Wood plan and build an artificial bank of Sand martin nest boxes at Weir Wood near East Grinstead. With the help of a Friends of a Weir Wood works party they install it on the north bank, opposite the Legsheath Lane carpark and hide. It was installed in time for spring migration, we now wait to see if passing Sand martins want to use it to start a new colony. Copyright: Chris Harries / Tophography.
