I bought the Baxters Scotch Broth in B+M's at £1.25p and the Crosse & Blackwell Scotch Broth for £0.66p from Farmfoods so which one was the best in my opinion ? the first one I tried was the Baxters which I found very watery and quite tasteless - the vegetables in the broth were hard and thhe meat content was not noticable, the whole thing lacked seasoning - even with the addition of Black Pepper it was still tasteless - I would not buy this one again and I score it 4 out of 10 The Crosse & Blackwell Scotch Broth was much creamier and thicker - it contained more vegetables which were cooked perfectly - the meat content was not noticable and once again the broth lacked seasoning - this one was improved a little by the addition of Black Pepper and in my opinon overall it was far better than the Baxters - I would buy this one again and I score it 8 out of 10 - when you consider the difference in price as well you would think that more expensive of the two would be better but that is not always the case and we end up paying for the name !
