We kayaked up the Priest Lake thorofare that connects the lower lake with the more primitive and wild upper lake. You can not get there by road, you must hike, boat or kayak in. It's a beautiful lake that was pretty quiet on a Sunday night, for the most part we had it to ourselves. We tried the first spot we found but were greeted with people who pulled up next to us. We jumped back in and found this little spot that I had been eyeing on Google Maps, nestled to a small creek. It was a really peaceful spot. It was super quiet and we really felt like we were out away from civilization. There is no cell phone service so we kept entertained with the water and woods. It was a bit smoky, there is a campfire burn ban right now so we had to settle for the LED light my wife bought online. It wasn't the exact same as fire but with some fire crackling sounds I downloaded to my phone, it worked pretty well. I had a wonderful time in one of North Idaho's most beautiful places. I will definitely be back although I'll be buying a Kayak cart to pull my kayak on the portage trail instead of carrying next time!
