I learned this art from my grandfather, who dressed the finest gentlemen in Old San Juan. Breathe deeply now as I measure your chest. In, out, letting go all of your troubles. The fabric I've selected for you is a butter-soft cream, a color that will reflect moonlight. Run your fingertips across it, feel how it ripples like water beneath your touch. As I pin the preliminary fitting, let me tell you about the hidden treasures of my beloved city. There's a little café down on Calle Sol where the coffee blooms with cinnamon and the pan de mallorca melts like sweet dreams on your palate. Now, for your tie selection. Each silk piece tells its own story. This deep blue one reminds me of the beach waves that dance along the shores of Playa Flamenco. Here, let me demonstrate. The silk slides smoothly around your collar as I loop and fold with practiced hands. My grandfather always said a properly tied tie should feel like a warm embrace. For the jacket lining, I have something special. Close your eyes and feel these swatches. This one is dupioni silk, with a subtle shimmer like moonlight on the ocean. This one is sandwashed silk, as soft as evening clouds. The third is my favorite – a jacquard with a pattern of tiny waves, like the ones that lap against the city walls at twilight.
