Pelagic Cormorant Courtship
Pelagic Cormorants nest in a vertical world. The males seek out a nesting spot to their liking. The build a small temporary nest that they occupy while trying to attract a mate. They spend their days preening, stretching and generally just hanging out, all the while scanning the skies for females flying by. When they spot a female the go into their initial courtship display of flapping their wings showing off their white rumps. When a female is attracted she then lands next to the male, they greet each other and begin bonding behaviors. Upcoming episodes in this series will continue with the actions and behaviors of the nesting colony.
