The placement of mesh can be intraperitoneal that is inside the abdomen in laparoscopic surgeries of preperitoneal or it can be an onlay mesh. Normally mesh is not felt, mesh is not seen, but in only mesh there is infection of the wounds happens and if we keep the wound open, we can see the mesh. W e have seen in such patients often when the wounds get infected and the mesh gets infected, it can exposed and such situations we may have to even remove the mesh. Otherwise mesh is not supposed to be visible post surgery.
