Wonderwall.com reports Craig Melvin is reassessing his role at Today after being passed over to interview Savannah Guthrie, a development relevant to the program’s anchor lineup. The report says Hoda Kotb conducted Guthrie’s first interview since her mother Nancy’s kidnapping, not Melvin. Insiders told the outlet that Melvin, promoted to co-host in 2024 and with NBC since 2018, was not asked and believed he had earned the spot. NBC indicated he was “fully supportive,” while sources said his future felt “up in the air.” On March 28, Kotb announced Guthrie will return April 6 and sit beside Melvin.
